Transformers: Dark of the Moon

In the 2011 sci-fi action sequel Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is struggling to find a stable career in Washington, D.C., alongside his new girlfriend, Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), while the Autobots continue working secretly with the U.S. military. The geopolitical landscape shifts dramatically when Optimus Prime discovers that a Cybertronian spacecraft, the Ark, crashed on Earth's Moon in 1961—triggering the historic Space Race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Deep inside the wreckage, the Autobots recover Sentinel Prime, Optimus's legendary predecessor, along with a set of space-bridge pillars capable of teleporting matter through time and space. However, a catastrophic Decepticon betrayal reveals a long-festering conspiracy, leading to a massive invasion of Chicago. Megatron and Sentinel Prime plot to use the pillars to teleport their dying home planet, Cybertron, directly into Earth's orbit, intending to enslave the human race to rebuild it.
