Storyline
In the 2009 fantasy comedy sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, former night watchman Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) has left the American Museum of Natural History to become a successful, wealthy infomercial inventor. When he returns to visit his old exhibit friends, he is devastated to learn they are being decommissioned and shipped to the deep archives of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., to be replaced by modern, interactive holograms. However, after arriving in D.C., Larry receives a panicked distress call from Jedediah the miniature cowboy (Owen Wilson). The mischievous capuchin monkey, Dexter, has accidentally stolen the magical Tablet of Ahkmenrah, bringing the entire, massive Smithsonian archive to life. Larry must infiltrate the world's largest museum complex to stop Ahkmenrah’s tyrannical, lisping older brother, Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), who plans to use the tablet to summon an underworld army. To save his friends, Larry teams up with a vibrant cast of historical figures, including the spirited, adventurous aviator Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams).
