In the 2010 animated superhero comedy Megamind, the brilliant but constantly thwarted blue-skinned supervillain Megamind (Will Ferrell) finally achieves his lifelong dream: completely destroying his handsome, beloved nemesis, Metro Man (Brad Pitt).With Metro City completely under his control, Megamind plunders town hall, lives the criminal high life, and celebrates his ultimate victory alongside his talking-fish sidekick, Minion (David Cross).However, the initial thrill quickly fades into depression when Megamind realizes that without a hero to fight, his life as a villain has absolutely no purpose.Desperate for a rival, he uses Metro Man’s DNA to artificially engineer a new superhero out of Roxanne Ritchi’s (Tina Fey) dimwitted, unrequitedly infatuated cameraman, Hal Stewart (Jonah Hill). The plan backfires spectacularly when Hal, choosing the name "Tighten," decides that being a selfish, destructive supervillain is much more appealing than saving the day. Forced into an existential role reversal, Megamind must embrace his own inner goodness and step up to become the hero the city actually need.
