Storyline
In the high-concept action-fantasy I, Frankenstein (2014), Aaron Eckhart stars as Adam, the sentient creature brought to life by Victor Frankenstein over two centuries ago. Adam finds himself caught in the middle of a secret, ancient war between the noble Gargoyle Order—holy protectors of humanity—and a legion of demons led by the villainous Prince Naberius. The demons seek the secret of Adam’s reanimation to create an unstoppable army of possessed corpses, forcing the soulless protagonist to choose a side. As the conflict escalates into a modern-day battle for the fate of the world, Adam must discover if he is merely a monster or if he possesses the spark of humanity necessary to save mankind.

Editor's Note
Biggest Strength The film features unique creature designs and stylized visual effects, particularly the distinct "ascending" and "descending" pyrotechnics used to depict the deaths of gargoyles and demons. Biggest Weakness The plot is bogged down by excessive, joyless exposition and a grim tone that takes its somewhat absurd "gargoyles vs. demons" premise far too seriously.
