In the 2024 sci-fi action-comedy Borderlands, based on the popular video game franchise, the chaotic, Mad Max-style wasteland of the planet Pandora comes to life.Lilith (Cate Blanchett), an infamous and cynical bounty hunter with a mysterious past, is hired by the universe's most powerful corporate tycoon, Atlas (Edgar Ramírez), to return to her loathed homeworld.Her mission is to rescue Atlas's kidnapped daughter, Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral, bunny-eared pre-teen demolitionist.Upon arriving, Lilith discovers Tina isn't a victim but is on the run alongside Roland (Kevin Hart), a rogue mercenary seeking redemption, and Krieg (Florian Munteanu), her mute, musclebound protector. Joined by the eccentric archaeologist Dr. Patricia Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black), a persistently obnoxious, over-programmed robot, the ragtag group of misfits uncovers a deeper conspiracy. Tina is actually a genetically engineered clone designed to unlock Pandora's legendary "Vault"—a hidden chamber containing ancient, catastrophic alien technology—forcing the group to band together to survive dangerous psycho bandits and keep the vault's power out of Atlas's hands.
