Twister

In the 1996 disaster blockbuster Twister, nature’s most violent weather forces a fractured team of storm chasers to reunite. Dr. Jo Harding (Helen Hunt) is a driven meteorologist obsessed with tracking tornadoes, fueled by a childhood tragedy. Her estranged husband, Bill "The Extreme" Miller (Bill Paxton), a legendary storm chaser turned television weatherman, arrives at her mobile basecamp in Oklahoma simply to get her to sign their divorce papers so he can marry his new fiancé. However, Bill gets instantly sucked back into the thrill of the chase when he sees that Jo’s crew has finally built "Dorothy"—a revolutionary data-gathering device based on his own old designs, built to revolutionize early warning systems. With a historic, catastrophic storm system breaking open across the plains, Jo and Bill must put their personal friction aside to beat a heavily funded, corporate rival racing to steal their ideas, driving directly into the path of spinning monsters to launch their sensors.
