Storyline
In the 2015 animated/live-action comedy The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Bikini Bottom falls into a chaotic, apocalyptic wasteland when the top-secret Krabby Patty formula mysteriously vanishes. While the townsfolk blame Plankton, SpongeBob knows his rival is innocent and convinces him to team up to build a time machine to retrieve it. Their quest eventually takes them to the surface world, where they discover the formula was stolen by a devious pirate named Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas), who is using it to run a highly successful food truck. To reclaim their recipe and save their home, SpongeBob and his friends must transform into muscular, 3D superhero versions of themselves to fight back on dry land.
