The Expendables

In the 2010 ensemble action spectacle The Expendables, a crew of hardened, old-school mercenaries acts as a lethal hammer for hire.Led by the stoic, battle-weary Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), the tight-knit team includes blade expert Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), martial artist Yin Yang (Jet Li), heavy weapons specialist Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), demolitionist Toll Road (Randy Couture), and a volatile, loose-cannon sniper named Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren). The group is approached by a mysterious operative calling himself "Mr. Church" (Bruce Willis) to take on a highly dangerous covert operation: infiltrate the small, fictional South American island nation of Vilena and assassinate its ruthless military dictator, General Garza. After a reconnaissance mission goes sideways, Barney realizes that Garza is merely a puppet figurehead being manipulated by James Munroe (Eric Roberts), a corrupt, rogue ex-CIA agent running a massive illegal drug operation. Caught in a lethal crossfire of corporate betrayal and military force, the aging veterans choose to load up their heavy artillery and mount a full-scale, explosive assault to dismantle the operation and rescue an innocent informant.
