Storyline

In the 2014 sci-fi action reboot RoboCop, set in the year 2028, multinational conglomerate OmniCorp dominates the global military market with armed drones, but faces a federal law banning autonomous killer robots on American soil. To circumvent the law, ambitious OmniCorp CEO Raymond Sellars (Gary Oldman) decides to put a human heart and mind inside a machine. Opportunity strikes when dedicated Detroit police officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) is critically injured in a car bomb planted by corrupt cops and a notorious crime boss. Designed by scientist Dr. Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman), Murphy is resurrected as a cybernetic law enforcement officer. While OmniCorp markets RoboCop as the ultimate hero to swing public opinion, executives secretly alter his brain chemistry—suppressing his emotions and free will to increase efficiency. However, as Murphy patrols Detroit's crime-ridden streets, his residual human memories resurface, triggering an uncontrollable drive to investigate his own attempted murder and expose the corporate puppeteers pulling his strings.
