Kung Fu Panda 2

In Jennifer Yuh Nelson’s 2011 animated action sequel Kung Fu Panda 2, Po (voiced by Jack Black) is living his dream as the Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside the Furious Five under Master Shifu’s (Dustin Hoffman) guidance. However, tranquility is threatened by Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), a exiled albino peacock ruler who has forged a terrifying new weapon—a gunpowder cannon designed to destroy kung fu entirely and conquer all of China. As Po and the Furious Five journey to Gongmen City to stop Shen's armada, Po encounters a mysterious symbol on Shen’s armor that triggers vivid, repressed flashbacks of his early childhood and his biological parents. Realizing that Shen was responsible for a horrific genocide of the panda population years ago, Po struggles with overwhelming inner turmoil that disrupts his martial arts focus. To achieve the inner peace necessary to redirect Shen's explosive firepower and save kung fu, Po must process his buried trauma, reconcile his past, and embrace the loving upbringing given to him by his adoptive goose father, Mr. Ping (James Hong).
