Mr. Peabody & Sherman

In DreamWorks' 2014 animated sci-fi comedy Mr. Peabody & Sherman, based on the classic 1960s Rocky and Bullwinkle shorts, Mr. Peabody (voiced by Ty Burrell) is a genius, Nobel laureate, and business titan who also happens to be a talking beagle. Peabody adopts an energetic human boy named Sherman (Max Charles), educating him about history by using his secret invention: the WABAC machine, a time-travel device. Trouble begins when Sherman attends his first day of school and gets into a clash with a bossy classmate named Penny Peterson (Ariel Winter). Attempting to smooth things over, Peabody invites Penny and her parents to dinner, but Sherman secretly takes Penny on an unauthorized joyride in the WABAC machine. After Penny gets strand in ancient Egypt, Peabody and Sherman embark on a high-stakes journey across space and time—visiting Leonardo da Vinci, Agamemnon, and Marie Antoinette—to rescue her. When their time-hopping creates a massive space-time rift over New York City, the trio must fix the continuum before history collapses on itself.
